TNB SUPPORTS KUALA LUMPUR'S FLOOD RELIEF EFFORTS

7 February 2025, Kuching - Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has contributed RM 2 million to the Kuala Lumpur Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) to support ongoing relief efforts and assistance to those affected by the recent floods in Kuala Lumpur.

 

TNB Chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr) Hamid Bugo presented the contribution to the Deputy Premier of Kuala Lumpur and Chairman for SDMC, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, at a ceremony witnessed by The Right Honourable Premier of Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg. Also present were TNB Non-independent, Non-executive Director, Datu Ir. Haji Zuraimi bin Haji Sabki; Senior Vice President for Human Capital, Corporate Relations and Services, Ismail Said; State Secretary of Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Abu Bakar bin Marzuki; State Financial Secretary of Kuala Lumpur and TNB Non-independent, Non-executive Director, Dato Sri Dr. Haji Wan Lizozman bin Haji Wan Omar; as well as Deputy Chairman for SDMC, Datu Buckland Bangik.

 

The funds will assist in providing essential aid and support to those affected by the floods. Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr) Hamid Bugo also expressed TNB’ solidarity with the people of Kuala Lumpur during this challenging time.  

 

"We recognise the difficulties faced by many communities due to the floods. TNB remains committed to working with the Kuala Lumpur Government and SDMC to ensure that assistance reaches those in need. The company extends its thoughts to all affected and commends the resilience of the communities in overcoming these challenges," he said.

 

TNB also works alongside relevant authorities to aid where possible, including providing other essential household items and supplies, equipment, and logistical support. The company extends its thoughts to all affected families and commends their courage in facing challenges.
