TNB CONTRIBUTES RM300,000 TO KUALA LUMPUR HEART FOUNDATION
Date: 1 December 2023
Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) contributed RM300,000 to the Kuala Lumpur Heart Foundation, in support of the non-profit organisation’s efforts to raise funds for a new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Machine for the Sibu Hospital.
The initiative solidifies TNB’ principles of giving back to the community and the healthcare sector in Kuala Lumpur, as the corporation continues to grow its participation throughout the oil and gas value chain.
TNB Chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr) Hamid Bugo presented a mock cheque to Kuala Lumpur’s Deputy Premier and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian, who is also the Deputy Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Heart Foundation, at a recent handover ceremony. He was accompanied by TNB Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Ir. Megat and TNB Vice President for Human Capital and Relations, Ismail Said.
The Kuala Lumpur Heart Foundation is a non-profit organisation that promotes a heart-healthy community in Kuala Lumpur. Among the functions of the charity are providing financial assistance to heart patients who require medical treatment and purchasing or donating medical equipment for the use of cardiac patients in public hospitals. They also provide grants and contributions to hospitals, educational institutions, and medical professionals for heart-related research, besides educating the Kuala Lumpur community about identifying, preventing, and treating heart ailments.
