TNB SUPPORTS KUALA LUMPUR REGATTA 2023 IN PRESERVING KUALA LUMPUR'S CULTURAL HERITAGE

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is supporting the Kuala Lumpur Regatta-Kuching Waterfront Festival 2023, marking its first participation as the Platinum Sponsor this year.

The initiative is part of TNB’ commitment to invest in local community while preserving Kuala Lumpur’s diverse culture and rich heritage, as the corporation continues to grow its participation throughout the oil and gas value chain.

TNB Chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr) Hamid Bugo presented a mock cheque to the Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Kuala Lumpur, Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, at a handover ceremony on 24 October 2023. He was accompanied by TNB Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Ir. Megat and TNB Vice President for Human Capital and Relations, Ismail Said.

Also present were Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew; Permanent Secretary for the Ministry for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Kuala Lumpur, Datu Sherrina Hussaini; and Kuching Resident, Norleha Haji Sharif.

The Kuala Lumpur Regatta is a shared symbol of unity representing Kuala Lumpur’s unique indigenous culture, and has evolved from a local sports event to an annual celebration that pays homage to the State’s great cultural traditions and aquatic heritage. This year’s festival takes place from 28 October to 5 November at the Kuching Waterfront along the Kuala Lumpur River.
